2010 City of Spokane Valley Street Projects

Barker Road Bridge

This project will reconstruct and widen the Barker Road Bridge over the Spokane River.  The bridge is currently closed to traffic, and should reopen in late spring 2010.

Broadway/Sullivan Concrete Intersection

This project will reconstruct the intersection with portland cement concrete and upgrade pedestrian ramps.  Begin: Spring 2010.

Sprague/Sullivan Concrete Intersection

This project will reconstruct the intersection with portland cement concrete and upgrade pedestrian ramps.  Begin: Summer 2010.

Broadway Avenue Reconstruction

This project will widen Broadway to a three-lane section from just east of Moore to Flora with bike lanes and sidewalks, construct a sanitary sewer line and install curb, gutter and stormwater facilities. A roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Broadway & Flora Rd.  Begin Summer 2010. 

Indiana Avenue Extension

This project will construct a new roadway to extend Indiana Ave from approximately 3,600 feet east of Sullivan to Flora Road.  The new roadway will have two travel lanes with bike lanes and a meandering path on both sides.  A roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Mission and Flora.  Begin Summer 2010. 

Broadway Avenue Safety

This project will restripe Broadway to a three-lane section with a center turn lane, bike lanes and upgrade pedestrian ramps between Park Road and Pines Road.  Begin:  Late Summer 2010. 

44th Avenue Pathway -- Woodruff Rd to Sands Rd

This project add a pedestrian path and two bike lanes from Woodruff Rd to Sands Rd, in conjunction with a Spokane County sewer project.  Begin:  May 2010. 

City-wide ADA Improvements

This project improve sidewalk ramps in three locations:  (1) Dishman-Mica Road between 8th and Appleway, (2) Montgomery Avenue between Argonne and Carlisle, and (3) Euclid Avenue between Sullivan and Flora.  Begin:  Summer 2010.
